How big is the team working specifically on social media and how do they do it?
It is a small team made up of a manager and his community managers, designers, photographers and editors. The work has a composite dynamics to be in sync with the time it is required to publish and achieve the viralization of the content thanks to the diffusion and summation of our followers.
Does social media help you spread rapid awareness of issues? How?
Yes. The objective of these social networks is for their users to establish links between them, facilitating communication and the exchange of knowledge and information in a virtual way, regardless of the place in the world in which its members are located. The first step is to plan a strategic plan that can be applied when an online reputation crisis arises. This preparation is key because it will improve the speed and effectiveness of the response when the crisis situation is triggered.
From your own experience what is the most effective: photo, audio-video or textual content?
The combination of the quality of the photo, the professionalism in video editing and adequate text that impacts and relates to multimedia should be a joint work. Videos transcend much more than photos and text.
Do you think that communication of Dominican MFA projects desired image of their country to the world?
We are always open to venture into the benefit of the country image of the Dominican Republic. At this moment, we are currently working on the second installment of the International Prize for the Dominican Emigrant Mr. Oscar de La Renta.
Should diplomats be aware of the country’s image abroad depending on what country they serve?
The diplomats must act according to the publications in benefit to the image of the country
without impostering the place where they are, exalting our riches and values to increase tourism in the Dominican Republic.
What are the key points that you put stress on when you promote your country?
The key points that are always highlighted in our publications refer to the values of our country according to the country brand campaign drawn up by the president of the Dominican Republic.
Have you faced some difficulties or negative comments while you were communicating on social networks?
Negative comments are collected to the extent that when a crisis occurs then a communication strategy is established that positively contributes the values of the country.
Comments
